We Care 03:27
Why do we care? I’ve seen it in your eyes You don’t want to be a part of this But you are, we all are So they say But let me ask you this: Shouldn’t it be up to us? Mankind I don’t know what that means Is it something I can touch? Is it something I can see? Is it something I should care about? Why do we care? I’ve seen it in your eyes As you read the news Your eyes are open books It’s too much, they say And it’s too far How can all this effect me? Why does my life depend on it? Why do we care? Maybe I’ll give it a try and stop caring I’d be a free man No worries but my own No fears but my own Just what I want to care about Would that be wrong? Would I be happy? Is it even possible? You’re switching on the TV And you’re seeing all this stuff happening in the world And you just blend it out? Not a single thought on what you just saw? Not even a little sympathy? No worries but your own? No fears but your own? No! Why do we care? Because we are human! WE CARE!

Viral 04:23
The oldest dreams of humankind Most came true with the passage of time Who would ever suggest to step back Just a little, take account of the signs Crying shame, boon and bane The ball is rolling faster Down the drain, words in vain Who’s to blame? Who’s insane? Nothing to look after Down the drain, words in vain We all knew it would come to this A society of opportunists No opportunity that we missed To invest in duplication of our fortune Still we look away Still we preach and pray We’ve learned nothing from each other Nothing from history A thousand lives per day Don’t matter anyway As long as markets have the power We won’t see no change Crying shame, boon and bane The ball is rolling faster Down the drain, words in vain Who’s to blame? Who’s insane? Nothing to look after Down the drain, words in vain We all knew it would come to this Austerity measures; hit-or-miss No money to calculate the risks It’s all invested in the growth of our fortune

More_data 03:49
Some of them where telling the truth But we unlearned to tell apart what is wrong, what is right What’s real or fake How should the youth of today find their way Through all this data that’s made To keep us busy and to lead us astray? I’m afraid time is up We’re in too deep, it’s too much And I can barely grasp the whole extent of what’s just made up We can’t rely on our knowledge It is all infiltrated Starting from De Bello Gallico To modern food science We’re irritated ‘Cause that’s the way they want us to be Who are they? Do I need to explain? It is me It is you It is us We all are cogs in machines And we feed them, we feed ‘Cause we need to, we need Yeah, we need more More Yeah, we need more Something bad has to happen otherwise nothing will ever change Go buy another weapon Do you need a wider range? Death is a politician He’s on a long time mission And we are all taking part in his prestidigitation Do you even know what you’ve been elected for? You just play your role in making profit from war Didn’t meant it but you said it? Just a quick apology In the end what really matters is that what you’ve done can not be seen But we are all to blame Because we all play the game Yeah, we are all to blame What do we need? More Yeah, we need more

The Switch 03:54
There’s a switch in your mind and it makes you want me I’m the drug you can’t see but you can’t deny me Switch I got full control about you No chance for you to undo Switch One more has been caught in my web Now someone else can react Typewrite your thoughts, get upset Your wasted time is my diet There’s a switch in your mind and it makes you want me I want to turn it all the time I’m the drug you can’t see but you can’t deny me Come take me in, I’ll make your mine You paved the way for my regency This is my time, my century I am electric opium I’m everywhere I’m odium There’s a switch in your mind and it makes you want me I want to turn it all the time I’m the drug you can’t see but you can’t deny me Come take me in, I’ll make your mine There’s a switch in your mind and it makes you want me I want to turn it all the time I’m the drug you can’t see but you can’t deny me Come take me in and turn the … Switch There’s a switch in your mind and it makes you want me I want to turn it all the time

While I read the news about the mass shooting on October the first in Las Vegas I was listening to one of my favourite tunes in that time The song deals with personal feelings and problems In the face of this horrible, horrible crime It felt so ignorant and decadent and immoral To actually feel the lyrics of the song While I should – and wanted – to feel the shock and the sorrow For the victims and their families You know, it felt so wrong listening to it Of course it is easier to stick to my own little problems Than facing the world’s worst tragedies And it’s natural, I think That’s self-protection Because we are a highly sympathetic life form And by today’s lines of communication We are getting flooded with bad news from all over the globe All the time If we would feel for every wrong that is happening worldwide We would destroy ourselves But which conclusion can we draw from this? Should we care less? I mean, isn’t it one of the great achievements of our time Of technology and globalization That we can be part of the big picture? That we are connected And able to help people everywhere on this planet? And doesn’t it imposes an obligation on us to do so? Well, that’s a question everyone has to answer for themselves Of course we are all selfish to a certain point And we always try to find the easiest way But we are human And we will always feel the need to help To be part of something And to contribute To the human welfare WE CARE From up here everything looks so irrelevant in a way But then again, nothing else is important I hope you’re all doing well down there Good night

about

ZAPIENS’ second EP is focusing on the cultural and ethical tasks our society is confronted with due to globalization and internet. Musically, the combination of divers electronic styles and orchestral sounds continues. Going from steady pumping beats with aggressive synthesizers to relaxed but haunting soundscapes.

I dedicate these songs to all those who stand up for a fair and livable world, and to all who continue to do so, regardless of any pushbacks or relapses. Every little achievement will have an impact. – MJZ
